Here are my top five Super Bowl ads for 2026. I have to admit that some of them were pretty funny but the majority fell flat on their faces. This year’s game, which took place on Sunday, February 8, 2026, had no shortage of celebrity cameos, cinematic throwbacks, and big-budget spectacle. However, as always, the true test of a Super Bowl ad is whether it’s memorable beyond the night of the game. Some brands leaned heavily into nostalgia. Others attempted emotional storytelling. Eight million people actually enjoyed an animated advertisement for an electric vehicle. I wouldn’t believe it unless I saw it. The journey began in April, featuring this relaxing endeavor, which apparently held therapeutic benefits for several viewers. This project was created for the instrumental YouTube channel Lofi Girl, featuring artwork by the Los Angeles-based studio Titmouse. Google CODA Commercial
Google’s CODA TV spot tells the story of a man named Tony. Tony is what’s known as a “CODA”, a child of deaf adults. Tony’s parents were both born deaf, so he grew up speaking sign language and translating for his parents. During the pandemic, Tony hasn’t been able to see his parents in person, but he can still communicate with them through the use of technology, including letting his parents spend time with their new grand-baby.
