These ads were part of a hard hitting “tongue in cheek” campaign to support the sale of blue jeans made by inmates at the Oregon State Penitentiary. The program allowed inmates to earn a commensurate rate to outside garment workers, while paying taxes, supporting families, paying victims restitution, and having money available for when they got out of prison.

Fun Size’ Salads for Halloween? Dole Isn’t Sure How It Feels About That

Author: | Categories: Advertising, Art, Creative, Uncategorized | (No Comments)

“Fun size” salad packets from Dole would be the most sadistic “treats” to give youngsters on Halloween, almost certainly guaranteeing your trees will be festooned with toilet paper by the end of the night.

Alas, you won’t be able to try it out. The image here is a Photoshop job by Adam Padilla, the founder of creative agency Brandfire.

Still, Dole had a pretty curious reaction to Padilla’s efforts.

Joining in the suddenly hot trend of friendly cease-and-desist letters, the food marketer playfully warned Padilla not to mess with its trademark again without talking to them first. But at the same time, it whipped some of its own “fun size” salad concepts—posting them right along with the warning.

Add Value Or Be Labeled An Advertiser

TV is done. Radio is toast. Print is dead. Everything is always coming to an end. Unless it isn’t. Maybe life is circular, not linear.

One thing that does not appear to be coming to an end is the endless onslaught of bad advertising.

Many companies can’t waste their time and money fast enough on tired cliches and other advertising mishaps. We only need to turn on the TV to see the shocking lack of insights into the human condition.

Nike with the World’s Fastest Commercial

Author: | Categories: Advertising, agencies, Art, Creative, Sports | (No Comments)

Nike with the World's Fastest CommercialThe shoe giant Nike recently created the fastest commercial ever advertising their newest Zoom Air sneakers. the spot features some of the world’s best athletes doing what they do best at lightning speed. That lightning speed is demonstrated via time lapse video technology of course. Let me know what you think of the spot down below.

The spot was created courtesy of an agency with one of the funniest names I’ve ever heard of “Must Be Something” also based out of Portland. Being in close proximity to your client must provide extra incentive to produce outstanding work. Anyway, let me know what you guys think of the commercial that incidentally takes a minute and 30 not the traditional 30 seconds.

Some of the athletes featured include:

  • Kobe Bryant: 5-time NBA champion (basketball)
  • Wayne Rooney: 3-time England player of the year (soccer)
  • Richard Sherman: Super Bowl champion (football)
  • Marlen Esparza: Olympic bronze Medalist (boxing)
  • Odell Beckam Jr.: Offensive rookie of the year (football)
  • Rafael Nadal: 14-Time Grand Slam champion (tennis)
  • Serena Williams: 20-Time Grand Slam champion (tennis)
  • Marcus Mariota: 2nd overall NFL draft pick (football)
  • Katarina Johnson Thompson: 2014 world No. 1, heptathlon (track and field)
  • Shane O’Neill: Pro Skater (skateboarding)
  • Mo Farah: Olympic Gold Medalist: 5,000M/10,000M (track and field)
  • Allyson Felix:  Olympic Gold Medalist: 200M/4x100M/4x400M (track and field)
  • Shelly-Anne Fraser-Pryce: Olympic gold medalist,100M (track and field)

ITA Getting into Movie Trailers

Author: | Categories: Advertising, Art, movies | (No Comments)

Earlier today I took a photo of the Jurassic Park movie poster plastered all over my neighborhood. I did that with the intention of talking about how Inside That Ad plans  to feature more movie trailers as part of its regular updates.  Movie trailers are a form of advertising for movie. In fact, the Merriam-Webster dictionary defines a movie trailer as “a selected group of scenes that are shown to advertise a movie” So, I figured it would be fair game for this blog to discuss. Below is trailer for the latest addition to the Jurassic Park series “Jurassic World.”

coca-cola-braille-hed-2015Hello world,

I always knew that the Coca-Cola Company was one of the greatest companies in the world. The advertisement that we’ll discuss today further strengthens my belief. What you see above are Coke can designs created so that blind individuals can read them. Now, here’s why I believe the company is one of the greats, I think these cans were designed so that blind individuals can also be a part of the ” Friend” campaign.

The Friend Coke Campaign

Author: | Categories: Art | (1 Comment)

If any of you have recently bought a case of Coke in preparation for the upcoming holiday. You might have found synonyms for the word “Friend” on the back of the cans. Well, a couple of the words are synonyms for the word, anyway. Once I made the discovery, I realized that if the cans were properly positioned and can be part of a great print ad design. So above is my first attempt at creating creative work for a big name brand. My hope is to create a series of ads with a similar theme that can become a part of my friend campaign.

I would appreciate your feedback on the ad design in the comments below.

I saw this beautiful piece of art on kissmyblackads.com and I just had to have it on IT A. The art was created completely using different fonts and text sizes. Of course, the attention grabbing piece of art had to be my sports hero, Micheal Jordan which is what grabbed my attention first. see more of PhreshSoldier‘s art on his gallery.
